35 APPOINTMENTS (cont’d) WILLIAM M. MILLNER, JR., has been appointed supervisor of pro duction planning and records in the Ecusta Paper Division. He join ed Olin in April 1970 as a pro duction planner after having serv ed as assistant to the director of University Center at Western Caro lina University. He had worked in Ecusta’s Converting Department for five years before his employ ment at Cullowhee. He is a native of Brevard and a graduate of Brevard High School. He received his B. S. degree in Business Administration at Western Carolina University where he belonged to the Circle K Club and Kappa Alpha Order. He participated in the WCU pre-season conference in 1969. He is a member of the American Production and Inventory Control Society, Inc. SAFETY flRST Mary W. McLaughlin won first place ($25), second place ($20) and fourth place ($5) in the poster contest on the topic of safety conducted for employees and family in Ecusta Paper Division’s Quality Control Department. She is second from left with, left to right, Hazel A. Ward, eighth place ($1); Maria Sentelle, third place ($10) and sixth place ($1); Kenneth J. Sentelle, tied ninth place($1) and Charles D. Norlander, quality control manager. Other winners were Thomas S. Helms, Jr., seventh place ($1) Michelle Helms, tied ninth place ($1); Marilyn M. Orr, tied ninth place ($1); and Nancy B. Brown, fifth place ($1). WILLIAM W. JAMESON has, been appointed superintendent of the Materials Department in the Ecusta Paper Division. He was superin tendent of the Converting Depart ment prior to his recent move. He has been with Ecusta since July 1967 when assigned to the Industrial Engineering Department. He became maintenance con trol supervisor in 1968 and conver ting superinten dent in 1972. He was employed by the Dayco Corp oration as an in dustrial engineer prior to joining Olin. He is a nativeof Haywood County and attended schools in Canton. Jameson graduated from Wake Forest University with a B.B.A. degree in Industrial Manage ment. He is a member of the American Institute of Industrial Engineers and served as treasurer and secre tary of the local chapter. He is a member of the Haywood Trail Riders Club. T. CHARLES GARRETT has been appointed southern regional manager in the Ecusta Pa per Division’s Marketing De partment. He has moved from Bre vard to Atlanta, headquarters of the southern region. He had been mill special ist at Pisgah For est for approxi mately 18 months, after having worked as a salesman. Employed by Olin in June 1964, he was assigned to Ecusta’s Ship ping, Storeroom and Production Planning Functions before his transfer to the Marketing Depart ment. He worked previously with the Brevard firms of Easley Monu ment Company, Moody Funeral Home and Abercrombie Furniture Company. He is a native of Pickens, S. C., where he attended schools. He held a football scholarship at Wofford College and served with the U. S. Marine Corps. LEROY C. BRACKEN has been promoted to shift supervisor in the Finishing Department of the Ecusta Paper Division. He was employed in Ecusta’s transfer pool in October 1963 and for nearly two years was in Film Div ision's Finishing Department. He transferred back to Ecusta Finish ing in November 1965 and became foreman in 1971. A native of Transylvania County, he is a graduate of Brevard High School and a veteran of U. S. Army service.
